IGNOU Diploma in Early Childhood and Education is a dedicated 1-year program for child development. Its course is well planned to provide training and knowledge in child nutrition and thinking. IGNOU provides a 3 subject syllabus for this 1 year course. Students must complete this syllabus with the help of IGNOU learning support.
The course for this diploma program also has mandatory Project work. This project carries weightage in the final IGNOU DECE term end examination. Students will get their diploma after successful completion of this course.
IGNOU DECE Syllabus 2025-26
IGNOU DECE syllabus gives knowledge about organizations, importance, and implementation of techniques of child development and care. It focuses on children from birth to 6 years old. The 3 theory subjects offered are:
- Organizing Child Care Services
- Child Health and Nutrition
- Services and Programmes for Children
- Project Work: Working with Young Children in a Child Care Setting
After Students learn how to organize child care services in small and large groups. They learn about the essential techniques and theory of child’s health and nutrition. IGNOU with the help of its students center organizes contact classes. These contact classes help students understand the services and programmes that will affect a child’s development positively.
IGNOU DECE Project
IGNOU DECE course also contains project work. A project work must be completed with a school which allows play activities organization. Students must organize learning activities for students of 3+ to 6+ years. This activity has to be carried out for 30 days.
A project work report has to be submitted to IGNOU. Students can take help from IGNOU study centers for this. They provide offline submission options for assignments and Projects. Currently students who have completed the DECE IGNOU Admission 2024 July session have submitted the DECE project in December.
